Blarney

Project: Small Garden

Size: 170m2

This small north-facing garden belongs to a semi-detached newly built house in a housing estate in Blarney.

My plant-loving client required a no-grass garden with seating areas and plenty of vegetation in raised beds.

I planned two different seating areas to utilize the limited sunlight the garden offers.  To add texture and colour to the site I faced the raised beds with reclaimed brick.

Between the raised beds, paved or stepping stone pathways cheerfully connect the different areas.

A Pyracantha hedge offers evergreen screening on the rear border, whilst the raised beds are planted with a mixture of shade and sun-loving plants for the areas where the sun lingers the longest.
